Education

I have been a professional ACT/SAT tutor for the past 12 years helping students to qualify to the college or university of their choice and avoid student loans by raising their ACT scores high enough to earn their scholarships and grants. This is my full time career. Over the past 12 years, I have developed my own proprietary methods that make earning a high ACT score (28 - 32) easy. These methods continue to prove effective as all of my students improve their scores significantly! Contact me now to get started! See more at www.pgila.org References available upon request.

Experience

Most of my students come to me by word of mouth, and so many of my students are LD in some way or another. Many have ADD or are dyslexic while others are just slow learners. To me, these students are amazing people with wonderful minds who just need to be taught properly. The first thing my students learn is that they are valuable and necessary people who can do far more than they thought they could! Also, they quickly learn that I don't work with disabilities. I work with their abilities! Throughout my classes, I work with my students to not only build up their testing skills but to increase their confidence and self worth. We work together to create the skills that will bring them success throughout their life as a whole. Spoiler Alert! The ACT doesn't test academic ability. In fact, it uses what students learn and the methods they use in school to trick them into getting lower scores. That's the reason so many high level students do so poorly on the ACT. The trick to getting a higher score on the ACT is in understanding the structure and rules the ACT is based on and using those rules to answer the questions quickly and accurately. That is what I teach. Using my proven, proprietary methods that were developed in the classroom at my academy, my students typically improve their ACT composite scores by a minimum of 3 - 5 points. Many who start with low scores (12 - 16) improve by as much as 12 points. Naturally, students improve more with practice. Our goal for our students is to earn an ACT score of 28 - 32 for students with strong academic abilities, and a score of 22 - 28 for our LD students. Due to popular demand, and for the convenience of my students (and their parents), I now do in person, Face-to-Face online classes through ZOOM. These classes offer the same one-on-one, in person aspect that students need to improve while giving them the added benefit of more flexibility in their schedule. For parents, their child can attend ACT classes without having a stranger in the house. Mom's have also enjoyed not having to "clean up for company" twice a week when I come over to teach. As an added bonus, my wife, Dr. Lizzie and I also offer college placement services. Our motto is: "All PGILA students go to college!" (PraxisGroup International Language AKADEMEIA, LLC) Find out more at www.pgila.org *I do not tutor on the SAT at this time. It has proven to be too unpredictable and unnecessarily complicated for students to master. If the university your child is applying for prefers the SAT, that university will use the ACT/SAT concordance to determine your child's score.

Hobbies

Most of my time is spent either studying the ACT, tutoring students on how to beat this test, writing books about or making videos about it on my YouTube channel. Other than that, I am just a dad to my two children and a husband to my wife, Dr. Lizzie. We do homework and play with our children. I guess I'm just a regular dad.
