Education

Experience

I have been tutoring students and/or teaching classes for 10+ years. I have been working for the U.S. Government for 10 years also (full time). I want to be a tutor because I enjoy working with students, helping them learn, and passing on knowledge. There is a very high demand (and low supply) for STEM jobs and I want to contribute to preparing students to take on those challenges. The relevant classes are too numerous to list. I can provide course lists or a CV on request. Suffice to say that I have taken most courses in physics and mathematics to satisfy PhD requirements in both fields. Any high school or undergraduate course in statistics, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or economics I can handle and assist with. I am also decent at writing, programming, and history and generally know what professors and standardized tests are looking for in these areas. I have successfully completed and scored well (top 5% or better) on the GRE, GMAT, and ACT. I will teach a student tips and tricks to make the content easier to handle as well as help them to predict what will be on tests in order to be more successful. I have written and taken many tests similar to what they are facing. They will also learn critical thinking skills. Critical thinking is by far the most important skill in academics. I am decorated in my field and am considered an expert. I have received many honors and am recognized as a world expert based on my work with the international community.

Hobbies

As a young professional I can relate well with high school and college aged students. I work mostly with that age range currently and will generally have up to 5 students at a time that I am working with. I enjoy learning and expanding my knowledge. My hobbies include investing/finance, custom designing engineering projects, swimming, and technology. I am easy going and can provide responsive or preparatory work. I am generally complimented on my ability to break down difficult concepts into relatable terms. While I can provide rigorous exercises or give the student extra assignments, I will work at the student's pace and adapt to their needs. In general, talk to me and express your goals from the session and I will strive to meet those. I am also willing to do some work over Skype/email and often times working problems requires some distance communication.
